BIO
Hey! I'm José Ramón García -also known as Bibiki-, a spanish composer and sound designer.
I started studying music composition at Málaga, with composers like Diana Pérez or Diego Pereira and, later on, at Musikene (Basque Country conservatoire) where I finished my degree, getting knowledge from classic harmony and counterpoint to advanced orchestration and composition with composers like Gabriel Erkoreka, Ramón Lazkano, Stefano Scarani or María Eugenia Luc.
During these years I've also attended some masterclasses with contemporary composers like Elena Mendoza, Peter Eötvös, José Manuel López López, Matthew Shlomowitz or Annete Vande Gorne.
Also, some of my pieces have been performed at Basque Country, like Éxodo (2017), for clarinet solo and ensamble in 2017 played by Kuraia ensamble and Suspiros en el Vacío (2017), for flute, clarinet and bassoon, played by Xare Laborategia.
At the end of my degree I was rewarded with the Orfeón Donostiarra award for my final degree project:“Composición de música para videojuegos: una aproximación desde la perspectiva de un compositor indie”.
In 2019 I finished my master degree in Media Composition at Katarina Gurska conservatoire in Madrid.
As a composer, I'm interested in contemporary music, electroacoustic music, interactive music, videogames music and film music.
Since 2014, I've been inside videogames' industry working for different games, like Arco, Citadelum, Loco Motive, Dixit World, Vengeance Hunters, Qomp2, Snacko, UnderDungeon or Alex Kidd In Miracle World DX.
Furthermore, I've participated in tons of game jams, making music and sound design for games like Casino Crypt, They Keep Me Rollin' or It's either them or us.
In 2016, I won the Best Sound Field prize at MálagaJam composing the soundtrack for Doitean, made for the GlobalGame Jam.
In 2019, I won the Best Music award at GGJ19 organized by GameJam.es with the game Abaya.
Also, I've composed music for short films like Kreba, winner of various Basque Country film prizes.
Furthermore, I've released various personal albums, like Forgotten Island (2020), Blank (2020) or Ghost Cab (2022), and I've been working on some procedural music systems with Max/MSP too, like A day of solitude (2019)
I've also made my own games, like VOID (2017) or Get The Skull! (2019), games made with PICO-8 fantasy console; or Capitalist Paradise, a game I made entirely by myself using Unity, FMOD and Aseprite.
